Schedule Review
The SmartScheduler provides several options for review of the current schedule, including the Daily View,
the List View and the Weekly View.
Schedulers may easily move between these views to review appointments which have been booked,
or assess available slots in the appointment schedule.
Daily View
The Daily View shows all appointments booked for the day. From the Daily View, the user can review appointments for each resource, and quickly move from day to day. Each appointments appears in the Daily View with the user specified color for that appointment type.
List View
The List View shows all appointments booked for the day in list form. From the List View, the user can review a list of all appointments, sorted by appointment time, patient ID, patient name, appointment type or resource.
Weekly View
The Weekly View shows all appointments booked for the week. From the Weekly View, the user can review appointments for each resource, and quickly move from week to week. The user may also drill-down to see the details for each appointment booked. Appointments in the Weekly View appear with the user specified color for that appointment type.
Appointment Scheduling
The SmartScheduler offers several different ways to search for available appointment times and book an appointment, depending on the scheduling context, and the preferences of the user.
SmartScheduler QuickBook™
Using the QuickBook feature, the user indicates any scheduling preferences of the patient, and reviews the soonest available slots matching the criteria. The user may specify any of the following:
- Type of appointment
- Days of the week
- Morning, afternoon, evening
- Location
- Resource preference
- Starting after date
The user may also book appointments from any of the View screens, including the Daily View, the List View and the Weekly View. If a patient record is currently selected, the user may also book an appointment directly from the Patient information screen, or the Patient Appointment List screen.
Booking Options
The SmartScheduler includes may powerful features and options that make the appointment booking process most efficient, and allow you to better manage the scheduling process.

Booking Guardian™
The SmartScheduler includes a powerful Scheduler Guardian, that allows you to validate each appointment made based on criteria defined by your group, including prior history, insurance, outstanding balance, and many other data elements captured by the system. The Scheduler Guardian is a powerful tool for implementing scheduling policy, and ensures that scheduling errors are appropriately identified at the time of appointment scheduling.
Schedule Reporting
The SmartScheduler provides a number of powerful reporting capabilities that allow information to be disseminated throughout the group. The following reports can be generated by appointment type, resource, location and date:
- Schedule list reports
- Scheduling outcome reports
- Scheduling productivity reports
- Scheduling setup reports
Scheduling Options
The Smart Scheduler includes many options that extend the flexibility of the system, and allow radiology groups to replicate the real world clinical scheduling process and environment within the SmartScheduler.
Wave Scheduling
The SmartScheduler support for wave scheduling of any appointment type. Wave scheduling allows a specified number of appointment slots to be defined as available at the same starting time, with patients being seen on a first come, first served basis. This feature allows patients to be given an even starting time for short duration appointments, and be seen in a time efficient manner.
Compound Resources
The SmartScheduler allows compound resources to be defined that include any number of resources or resource classes to be available within certain time offsets of each other. This allows you to combine providers, rooms and other resources in ways that they are required to treat the patient. This provides tighter control of the schedule, and ensures that no appointment is booked unless all required resources are available.
Resource availability
SmartScheduler includes extended options for specifying availability for each scheduling resource. Baseline schedules may be defined along with week by week exceptions to the general availability. Support for alternating schedules is also provided for repeating patterns within the schedule. Update to resource availability are quick and easy to make.
Scheduling Management
The SmartScheduler includes many features designed to allow group administrators and scheduling managers to monitor the scheduling process, and effectively implement group policy. These features and options allow the entire scheduling process to be automated, not just the appointment booking.
